In this position you will be responsible for the effective daily coordination and monitoring of Patient Transportation services activities through timely and accurate dispatch and management of customer transportation requests and efficient assignments of transport personnel utilizing TeamChimes applications. You will ensure positive patient, customer and transporter satisfaction, proper priority standard utilization, program quality standards, performance improvement, and personnel productivity. In this position, you will:


Responsibilities:

Exhibit excellent telephone etiquette and listening skills.

Maintain a safe, healthy, orderly and pleasant work environment for staff; ensure dispatch equipment is safe and in good, clean working condition; provides and maintain adequate levels of supplies and equipment.

Understand and apply knowledge of basic patient transport concepts, infection control practices, and proper body mechanics.

Understand and is able to determine, explain and develop dispatcher logic and transporter activities; act as a transporter when necessary.

Ensure proper operation of TeamChimes hardware, software programs, page and phone handling systems; troubleshoot and work with Information Systems and Persistech.

Direct the activity of the transport function and transporters, ensuring timely completion of tasks; monitor procedures related to availability and completion task, follow-up on issues related to service and operations in a timely manner.

Function as a liaison between Patient Transportation and other departments.

Develop and promote positive effective customer service relations with patients, patient family members, visitors and staff; ensure maximum staff productivity.

Resolve problems related to patient, visitor, staff or employee complaints; recommend and participate in the solution of on-going problems or trends.

Act as a positive role model; possess integrity, focus, commitment, flexibility, diplomacy and a team spirit.

Qualifications:

Effective organizational skills necessary to plan, organize, coordinate and direct the activities of transport requests and associates' productivity. Service/quality mentality and attitude.

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Preferred dispatcher, transport or hospital experience.

Basic computer skills utilizing a Windows-based Operating System required.

Ability to troubleshoot system problems related to computer or software systems.

Analytical ability to evaluate task and personnel status; interpret demand and response times in accordance with patient acuity and personnel availability.

Excellent judgment for problem solving under emergency or stressful situations.

Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact, motivate and communicate with a wide range of staff and hospital personnel in a professional manner; guest relation's skills must be strong, genuine and noticeable.

Physical ability to withstand frequent to prolonged sitting or walking if performing transport functions.

Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
